How to Get Additional Income from Disqus

When I first used Disqus for the comments column on this blog, I didn't have any excess expectations. In fact, I was wondering about Disqus. The first thing I asked, where did they get their income until they were able to survive until now.

I posted Disqus on BLOGHINT for the first time March 10, 2014. At that time I saw Disqus on foreign news sites and it was cool to my eyes. Long story short, I installed it and I stick with it today. Read: Easy Ways to Install Disqus Comment Columns on Blogspot Since then, I have known that Disqus allows us to earn income. Unfortunately, as an Indonesian language blog my erning application is always rejected. I also gave up hope of being able to earn income from Disqus.

Entering the fourth year, an email suddenly narrowed. They informed me that my blog was included in their list of plans to place ads. The email also stated that Disqus had just updated and the plan was to carry out the program on February 6, 2018. At first glance this may seem exciting, especially if the orientation is really about money. But on the one hand, that means it will be a burden for blog pages. Because it will increase reloading load. The only option Disqus offers not to show ads is to try their paid account.

There are basically three types of accounts on Disqus, the first is Basic as BLOGHINT uses. This account is completely free and can advertise. Second, Plus with a payment of $ 9 per month with the benefits of all the facilities in the Basic account can be used, plus there is an on off setting for advertising.

On the Plus account, Disqus treats exclusively accounts from small, personal, non-commercial sites that don't run any ads. They do not charge at all or free, except for the Direct Email Support facility.

Third, the Pro account which pays $ 89 per month. If calculated using an exchange rate of Rp.13,000 per dollar, then every month we have to pay Rp1,157,000. A hefty amount for a service. But they promise facilities that are available on the Pro account. Seeing that, it can be concluded that Disqus' business base is not only a comment application, but also analysis that is judged to be accurate and Email Subscriptions. As well as many more.

Although it is possible to post advertisements and get additional income from Disqus, there is still a gap for blog owners if they don't want to install this facility. Everything can be arranged when in the ad settings on the Disqus dashboard. I will explain later.

In general, I don't understand how Disqus assesses choosing blogs to advertise on. Either because they are updating and choosing my blog, or indeed they have approved blogs in Indonesian. Think of it and I apply it.

So for those of you who want to get additional income from Disqus, please try it. The steps are as follows:

Step 1:Login to your Disqus dashboard. Then enter the Settings section. Look in the top menu bar, then select the blog you want to install if you have more than one. Step 2: Select the Ads section on the left. It is possible that if your account has not been activated, it will look like this. Click 'Activate Ads Now' in the red box.

Step 3: You will be faced with ad settings. There are three types of ad positions that Disqus offers. At the top of the comments column, in the middle or at the end. While there are four types of advertisements. Some are in the form of pictures, narrative stories, like regular posts and videos.

But what you have to pay attention to is the writing in the upper right corner of your screen. If the aligned position says 'Enabled Positions Preview', that means, your account is not yet eligible to be placed with ads from Disqus. Because it should be, in the upper right position, it says Earnings Potential.

Step 4: If your account also appears the Payment tab, then your account really deserves an ad. It just so happened that BLOGHINT appeared right under the ad settings. Please click the button that says 'Set up or update your payment method'.

There are three processes that you must go through in arranging payments. First, fill in the complete address, the second method of payment. Can be selected whether bank transfer, paypal or WU. All three tax forms. You only need to fill in an address in Indonesia to suggest that you are really not an American, and that's done. If these settings don't appear in your dashboard, chances are that you haven't been approved by Disqus. Again, I also don't understand their assessment.
